Last of the Presentations

This past Wednesday was the last day of our class presentations. One of the groups that presented, besides ours, presented on the book titled "Steal This File Sharing Book: What They Won't Tell You About File Sharing." I really liked the way this group presented. It was straight and to the point. The presenters knew their material and what was going on. They talked about the fact that everything and anything can be shared, if its in a file. There are many ways to share a file, emailing it, transferring it by usb, but certain file sharing groups exist online. These file sharing groups share music, movies and much more. Technically these groups are not illegal but if they share copyrighted information, the sharing of copyrighted information is illegal.

This group talked about why people began to share files, and it was due to the reason that they were tired of the prices that record companies were setting on their cd's. Not only do people pirate and share files, but some people make money off seling pirated music, by making it look like the real deal. There are many reasons why people do the things that they do. Like i have said, people were tired of the record companies prices, some people just want a single song and are not willing to pay ~20 for a cd that they dont want to listen to. Some people collected copyrighted material just because they can.

The world that we live is an interesting one and every person has to make a choice in how they are going to act. If i have more time i would like to read this book, and i advise you, my dear internet college to read it yourself, to really know what your getting yourself into.
